Everybody is a Sitora

By Yusuf Misdaq

People who I let in open up
And tell me I'm a trendsetter
Which seems too small but if I say what I really am I will sound insane
I'll just tell you instead
Keep it secret:
I am a star seer.
I don't read from a text-book
The energy of the stars and planetary bodies
Runs into my veins as clearly
As water runs through a clear stream
As water is a clear stream
So am I a star.

Don't be upset with me
The problem is
~And I keep telling people but they won't listen~
Or, it has begun to sound corny:
You all are stars
The twinkly emoji is reserved for special things
You know
What you are
But you are scared to think it
Say it
And if anyone acts like it
We label them with terrible words.

It's true it may be hard for some to
Distinguish the line between
Pretentious ego maniacs
And Divine stars

But that's ok
When I was about 12 or so, I was a smart kid
But I absolutely hated Prince
I thought he was so arrogant
I had no idea what a beautiful supernova he was
That his creations would ring like the bells of Allah
Punctuating the perfect moments of my life
Only those who love God far more than themselves
Can embody this rare form of stardom
